Re-gifitng is Right!

Aren’t you tired of the etiquette egg heads?  We are!  Etiquette schmmetiquette!

If you want to re-gift an item – it’s ok! 

America is loaded with people who believe they are good gift-givers…but in all honesty, they are only "good shoppers."  A good shopper likes to go to stores they like, buy what they like…and here is the kicker – GUESS at what you may like.

Many good shoppers mean well.  Although, when it comes to being thoughtful and giving up their love of shopping for a great gift for you – forget it. 

So, why do the etiquette egg heads write books that tell you not to re-gift?  We’ve read their books and all we can derive is that they are obsessed with being prissy and proper!

Why shouldn’t you give a quality item to someone else who you know will appreciate it? In short, you should!

The key is that you have to know your recipient will enjoy the item.  Here are some other tips:

 

• Take off the card and wrapping, don’t give it to someone in the same circle of friends, etc. (We’re sure you’ve heard all of that before and have good common sense).
  
• Get rid of it as soon as possible!  The longer it stays in your gift drawer, the longer it will take for you to give it away.  More so, having a lot of stuff in your house will bog you down.  So, don’t let your friend who is a so-called good shopper increase your stuff.  Re-gift it as fast as you can!
  
• You don’t have to tell the person you are re-gifting it.  It’s none of their business.  You are giving a quality item from your heart. 

 

Last but not least – beware of the etiquette egg heads.  They’re scramble up gifts that you could re-gift for someone else who would appreciate it!
